Controversy as Muhoroni deny KPL suspension claims

By Sports Editor Omondi Onyatta
Muhoroni Youth chairperson Moses Adagala has denied claims that the club has been barred from playing in this year’s Tusker Premier League due to transfer irregularities. The denial comes after reports that the club had engaged in incomplete registration of new players.
Adagala said that Muhoroni, who had signed six players in the January transfer window, had sorted the issue with KPL CEO Jack Oguda. “We have had a chance to explain ourselves and everything has been sorted. Thankfully, FKF (Football Kenya Federation) stepped in and helped solve the row,” he stated.
Oguda had accused the Muhoroni-based side of forging signatures and submitting lists of players past the set deadline in contravention of KPL’s Status and Transfer Players policy. The KPL boss advised the club to file a complaint with the Independent Disciplinary Appeals Committee (IDAC).
Muhoroni Youth have recently received a sponsorship deal from Muhoroni Sugar Company. The team, which earned promotion to the premier league last year, signed Frankline Osama, Godfrey Simiyu, Peter Okore, Enos Ochieng, Kevin Omondi and George Ogola.
